About Rupa

I am an Early Childhood Educator with extensive experience in nurturing young minds across a variety of learning abilities and cultural backgrounds. One of the most rewarding aspects of my career has been encountering and addressing the challenges faced by children who struggle to make expected progress. These experiences inspired me to further my qualifications by becoming a licensed Davis facilitator for Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Attention issues, and Autism. The Davis programs have been transformative, allowing me to witness firsthand how struggling learners can overcome barriers and develop into confident, capable students. While my initial focus was on young learners, my experience as a Davis facilitator has since expanded to include work with individuals of all ages, including adults.

My career has been deeply rooted in the belief that play is the cornerstone of effective learning. Engaging both children and adults, play serves as a fundamental and enjoyable way to foster lifelong learning. This principle has guided my approach in creating dynamic and interactive learning environments.

My professional journey encompasses teaching preschool children in both local and international settings. I have had the privilege of working in a multicultural and multi-age group setup, which has enriched my understanding of diverse educational needs and practices. This experience includes significant time spent in a fully accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) school, where I implemented the Primary Years Programme (PYP). This inquiry-based framework emphasizes exploration and curiosity, allowing me to tailor my teaching methods to support a range of learning styles and developmental stages.

A core aspect of my teaching philosophy is the use of varied media to present lessons, with a particular passion for puppets. This creative approach not only captures children's imaginations but also facilitates a deeper engagement with the material. By incorporating play and media into my teaching, I strive to make learning both effective and enjoyable.

Throughout my career, I have employed differentiation techniques to address the needs of students in diverse and multi-age classrooms. This has been crucial in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive. I take particular pride in my ability to teach mathematical concepts in a play-based, non-threatening environment, which helps demystify these subjects and makes them more accessible to young learners.
