About Margot

Margot has dyslexia, ADHD and dyspraxia, is married to a dyslexic and the mother of 2 adult sons both of whom have ADHD and dyslexia, and one is also dyspraxic.

She has a degree in Accounting and worked in this area until she became licensed to provide Davis programmes. Despite a successful career in business management, she was more motivated to find a solution to her younger son’s learning problems and was frustrated by the lack of information available.

Margot came across the Davis methods in 2003 while researching solutions for her younger son. She found Ron Davis’s book “The Gift of Dyslexia” a refreshingly positive outlook on dyslexia which she could understand how it worked. This is because Ron thinks the same way that her sons and she thinks – primarily with pictures. The Davis Mastery for Dyslexia programme offered real and permanent solutions to her son’s problem. Seeing the changes that Davis programmes have brought to both Margot's sons’ lives inspired her to work to be able to offer this gift to others. While working with many dyslexics, she was intrigued by several who were just that bit different again. The Davis Autism Approach was the solution to unlocking their potential.

As part of the training, Margot has explored all the life concepts in the same sequence as the Davis Autism programme. This has made an amazing difference to her life and how she perceived others. In the past she thought a lot of things were out of her control but now she sees how she influences her surroundings and causes her experiences in life. Margot says that she is permanently much calmer now as the Davis tools have become inherent and upgraded her operating system!

Margot's Davis journey has been full of discoveries and self-fulfillment. Becoming a licensed Davis Autism Facilitator was the realisation of a 3-year dream. She says that she has been blessed to work with many talented children and adults doing one of the most rewarding jobs ever.

Margot has a passion for accepting diversity in all of society. She's committed to providing a professional, confidential and respectful environment for her clients where they are able to discover, celebrate and nurture their special talents.

Margot looks forward to meeting you soon.

Margot's Success Stories

I could hardly read at all before I started the programme. For the first time, I finished a book without getting frustrated or angry.
I pinched a book from primary school because I wanted to read it and now over 30 years later I can read it. I can read the texts my girlfriend sends me too.
I am more mellow now and starting to be me again. I’ve found myself!
This course works – better than anything else I’ve tried.
Dave, 42, Plumber

Before I did the programme I was getting “Not Achieved” for my NCEA level 1 papers. I knew I could do better and have since met my goal of getting “Merit” for them. I have since passed Level 2&3 NCEA. Thank you, Margot.
Chris, 15 years
I could not believe the change in the work Chris submitted after the programme so I had his paper marked by another teacher. He had improved from “Not Achieved” to nearly “Merit”. His confidence markedly improved and he was quietly shining. Mrs P, Teacher

I’ve gotten a lot better with everything — Science, topics and staying on task.
He doesn’t need medication anymore. It’s great to see his personality back. Harry’s Mum
The change in this boy is huge. Before medication he was very difficult to manage and while medication worked for a while his personality disappeared. It’s great to see the old Harry back but without the behavioural problems. He is staying on task a lot better. Penny, SPELD tutor

I just want thank you again for everything, you are amazing 😊. Just want to share our testimony with you.

We are extremely proud of Mickayla and will highly recommend this program to anyone, it really helps.

Back in South Africa, Mickayla never had the support from the schools that she was in - they always referred us to doctors for scans etc. Due to the language barrier she got from school between Afrikaans and English. Nobody could help to get this right.

We came to New Zealand and what a blessing - Mickayla was placed in school and had awesome teachers and teacher aids helping her and guiding her.
In 2022 the school asked us to do a cognitive test. Ray Powell gave us reference of this awesome program.

Mickayla started in August 2022, Margot was an amazing teacher made her feel at home as helping her and pushed herself everyday to progress to learn to read and write. This program gave her the confidence and skills to grow and we saw an amazing change - from a girl that struggles to read to one that takes out books now to read. She finished the program but we are still continuing to learn more words that she does not know using the same skills she learned.

Just want to thank Margot for everything - this program changed her life 😊

Kind Regards
Bernadette
