Karen discovered Davis Dyslexia in 2005 in a desperate search to find help for her 11-year-old son Nathan who struggled with reading and math. After trying multiple programs with little success, he still couldn't read, memorize his math facts or write a grammatical paragraph. She was skeptical of ever finding a solution, but after reading The Gift of Dyslexia by Ron D. Davis, she was intrigued by Davis's unique and positive approach described in the book. Karen soon registered Nathan for a Davis Reading Program.
Nathan was more confident and less stressed after the program; he was also able to focus and self-regulate. A year later, he completed the Davis Math Program. By the time he entered junior high, he demonstrated significant improvements in all areas of academics. In high school he blossomed socially and athletically, and earned 3.8 GPA. Nathan, a college graduate, is forging ahead in his career as a Business System Analyst and has accomplished more than he ever dared to hope. They attribute his extraordinary transformation to his completing the Davis Programs.
This life-changing experience inspired Karen to become a facilitator. As a credentialed teacher, experienced sports coach, and Davis Facilitator, Karen has assisted children, teenagers and adults in being capable and self-assured - empowered in reaching their goals and confident in their intelligence and skills. Karen also provides an inviting environment where clients can explore a variety of activities: paddle boarding, swimming, golf, basketball, volleyball, pickle ball, boating, cooking, and more. These experiences offer a change of pace during the program and the opportunity for clients to integrate their Davis tools and strategies in other areas.
Second to raising her children, being a Davis Facilitator, has been the most rewarding and enjoyable job in her life. She is honored to work with incredible clients and their families and blessed to witness the amazing transformation each of her clients has experienced during and after the program.

I have struggled my entire life with undiagnosed ADHD and Dyslexia. Karen and this program are fantastic. She is caring, understanding, but she also keeps expectations high. On top of that the caring goes beyond just the session but into life and I appreciate it. I still text her on regular occasion to talk through things and get input on life because she carries so much empathy and understanding towards the way my brain works.

My middle schooler recently completed a session with NorCal Learning Solutions, and I would absolutely do it all over again if I could, but so much earlier!
Karen and my daughter clicked very quickly. She was incredibly patient and personable, welcoming us in with open arms. With such personal and sensitive topics at hand (a potential learning disability and all the various ways it impacts her life), Karen's ability to advise without judgment was so admirable and exactly what we needed. My daughter made great progress in her 6 days in the math program that Karen offers, and we are so thrilled with the results. Our eyes were opened to so many things we would have never known, or even considered. She has impacted my daughter's life in the best way. We are moving onward and upward with so much knowledge and a great new friend. I feel so fortunate to have found her and been able to provide this wonderful resource to my daughter. THANK YOU, KAREN!!

I wanted to send you an email to say thank you! We have seen such big changes in Ian over the last few days.
On Saturday just before bed, Carl told him how it was such a nice day. He asked him if he used his tools a lot that day. Ian says "yes, all the time. I don't feel so nervous all the time." I wanted to jump up and down, but I said a casual, "that's pretty cool..." and smiled.
He has had three dry nights too! He wakes up happier. He's not so irritable. He's a different kid! I live in a different house! It's *amazing*!
This morning my husband said he was surprised that Ian has improved this much. I agree! To us, these changes are dramatic!! You have changed our life, Karen! Thank you thank you!

My son has completed two of Karen’s programs and we couldn’t be happier with the results! The programs are highly effective and Karen is a genuinely caring facilitator who truly wants to see her client to succeed.
I will be forever grateful for the tools my son now has to help guide him throughout his lifetime. I have confidence he will manage just fine and is finally on a level playing field to maneuver through his adult years.
The only regret I have is not finding Karen sooner. I know it would have saved us years of frustration. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Karen!!

Karen has a personal understanding of what the child and families experience when their child is struggling and I personally connected with her on this level. It is very apparent that Karen has a genuine passion in wanting to see my son improve and succeed.
During the week of the program my son was so incredibly happy and more confident than I have seen him in a very long time. Our family is very excited to see how all the tools he learned in the program will help him be more successful and help increase his confidence in the classroom and in every aspect of life. As a parent, I can truly that I really enjoyed working with someone who understood the difficulties and emotional roller coaster that we have faced as a family. She took the time to explain what my son was learning and how we can support him in this journey. Karen is simply wonderful! I am so excited to see what is in store for my son
