Il mio talento è vedere l'intelligenza in ogni individuo. Credo che non ci siano limiti al modo in cui un individuo può svilupparsi ed imparare.
Mi piace scoprire come un cliente usa la sua logica per imparare e aiutarlo a trovare il modo più efficiente di usare il suo cervello. Aiutarli a capire che possono gestire lo stile di pensiero del loro cervello, anziché esserne controllati, è il mio superpotere. Non c'è niente di più bello che vedere fiorire l'autostima di un cliente quando si rende conto che la sua intelligenza è la causa della dislessia, della discalculia, dell'ADHD o dell'autismo e che può averne il controllo!
Sono un'americana che vive in Italia da oltre 30 anni. Sono sposata con un gondoliere. Ho tre figli. Il più grande sta intraprendendo una carriera nel campo dei diritti umani, la più giovane è una ballerina professionista e il figlio di mezzo spera di frequentare un giorno l'università. Tutti e tre hanno una mente meravigliosa e tutti e tre sono stati influenzati positivamente dai Metodi Davis.
Prima di lavorare con i Metodi Davis, lavoravo nel settore della vendita al dettaglio come direttore di divisione prima di trasferirmi a Venezia per amore. Stavo insegnando inglese e sviluppando un'idea imprenditoriale quando mi sono resa conto che mio figlio stava sviluppando l'autismo. All'età di due anni, mio figlio ha perso il linguaggio e si è chiuso al mondo. Dopo 9 anni di lavoro con molti esperti in Italia e negli Stati Uniti, mi sono imbattuta nel Metodo Davis. L'impatto è stato così sorprendente che ho deciso di diventare una facilitatrice per aiutare altri come lui e altre famiglie come la nostra.
La mia esperienza lavorativa con Davis comprende la formazione per diventare Specialista in Dislessia Davis, la collaborazione con Ron Davis per sviluppare la parte sull'Identità Sociale dell'Approccio Davis all'Autismo, la traduzione in italiano dei manuali di formazione sulla Dislessia Davis e dei manuali per i clienti dell'Autismo Davis e lo sviluppo e la presentazione di corsi di formazione professionale per facilitatori su clienti autistici non parlanti. Ho prestato centinaia di ore di volontariato alla Fondazione Ron Davis per l'Autismo per contribuire a portare i metodi Davis in Italia.
Attualmente mi sto formando per diventare Supervisore del Metodo Davis per l'Autismo e Presentatrice di Workshop sul Metodo Davis per l'Autismo. Il mio desiderio è quello di contribuire a far conoscere il Metodo Davis in Italia. Sono determinata non solo a facilitare un maggior numero di individui nella realizzazione della loro intelligenza, ma anche a ispirare un maggior numero di genitori e professionisti a diventare facilitatori per far sì che il lavoro di Ron Davis si diffonda in tutto il mondo.
Se un cliente ha bisogno di capire e trattenere ciò che legge, di comprendere il mondo che lo circonda e di sviluppare il linguaggio, di avere il controllo della propria attenzione, o di superare la matematica con divertimento, non vedo l'ora di abbattere i falsi limiti e di aiutarlo a sperimentare la sua intelligenza.

My talent is seeing the intelligence in every individual. I believe there is no limit to how an individual can develop and learn.
I love discovering how a client uses their logic for learning and help bring them to the most efficient way to use their brain. Helping them understand they can manage their brain’s thinking style, rather than being controlled by it, is my superpower. Nothing is more beautiful than seeing a client’s self esteem blossom when they become aware of how their intelligence caused their dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD or autism and that they can be in control of it!
I am an American who has lived in Italy for over 30 years. I am married to a gondolier. I have 3 children. My oldest is pursuing a career in human rights, my youngest is a professional dancer and my middle child hopes to attend university one day. All have beautiful minds and all three have been affected positively by the Davis Methods.
Prior to working with the Davis Methods, I worked in retail as a Divisional Manager before moving to Venice for love. I was teaching English and developing a business idea when I realized that my son was developing autism. At age two, he lost all language and closed himself off to the world. After 9 years of working with many experts in Italy and in the United States, I came across the Davis Methods. The impact was so astounding that I decided to become a facilitator to help others like him and families like ours.
My Davis work experience includes training to become a Davis Dyslexia Specialist, working with Ron Davis to develop the Social Identity Part of the Davis Autism Approach, translating Davis Dyslexia Training Manuals and Davis Autism Client Manuals into Italian, and developing and presenting Professional Development for Facilitators on Non-Speaking Autism Clients. I have volunteered hundreds of hours to the Ron Davis Autism Foundation to help bring the Davis Methods to Italy.
Currently, I am training to become a Davis Autism Supervisor and Davis Autism Workshop Presenter. It is my desire to assist in the Davis Methods becoming know in Italy. I am determined to not only facilitate more individuals in realizing their intelligence, but also to inspire more parents and professionals to become facilitators in order to have Ron Davis’s work spread throughout the world.
Whether a client needs to understand and retain what they are reading, understand the world around them, develop language, be in control of their attention, or have fun with math, I look forward to breaking down false limitations and to help them experience how intelligence they are.

Dislessia, ADHD e Programma di Matematica

Cathie ha guidato noi e nostro figlio Rocco attraverso una trasformazione davvero profonda. Dopo anni di ricerca di "soluzioni" alla dislessia, abbiamo trovato il Metodo Davis. In una settimana di intensa terapia siamo passati da un bambino che sapevamo essere brillante, ma che lottava dolorosamente con la lettura, l'espressione, la coordinazione e il comportamento, a una versione totalmente nuova di sé stesso. Ora impara voracemente, è affascinato dal mondo, è fisicamente coordinato, non ha bisogno di farmaci ed è una gioia stare con lui. L'altro giorno mi sono ritrovata a chiedergli di "mettere giù il libro"; qualcosa che non osavamo sognare potesse mai accadere. Auguro questo miracolo a tutti i genitori che lottano con un bambino che vede le cose in modo diverso. Cathie è stata/è meravigliosa; questa esperienza è una delle cose migliori che siano mai accadute nella nostra vita.

Dyslexia, ADHD and Math Program

Cathie steered us and our son Rocco through a really profound transformation. After years of beachcombing the elusive “solutions” to dyslexia, we found the Davis Method. In a week of intense therapy we went from a child that we knew was bright, but struggled painfully with reading, expression, coordination and behaviour, to a totally new version of himself. He is now a voracious learner, fascinated by the world, physically coordinated, totally unmedicated, and a joy to be around. I caught myself the other day asking him to “put the book down”; something we didn’t dare to dream could ever happen. I wish this miracle for every parent struggling with a kid who sees things differently. Cathie was/is wonderful; this experience is one of the best things that’s ever happened in our life.

Ho avuto la fortuna di incontrare Cathie in un momento in cui cercavo un sostegno, una soluzione per i DSA di mia figlia Virginia. Ho visto Virginia entrare nell'ufficio di Cathie, il primo giorno, con le spalle contratte e lo sguardo basso, e uscire il quinto giorno con un sorriso radioso e lo sguardo già rivolto ai suoi grandi obiettivi di vita. Virginia è ora forte. Cathie è una professionista unica, dotata non solo di un grande know-how ma anche di una straordinaria intelligenza emotiva ed è in grado di creare un percorso mirato grazie alla sua grande empatia che va oltre la professionalità. Il metodo di Ron Davis è straordinario e Cathie lo applica alla perfezione.

I was fortunate enough to meet Cathie at a time when I was seeking support, a solution for my daughter Virginia's DSA. I saw Virginia walk into Cathie's office , on the first day , with her shoulders tight and her gaze down, and walk out on the fifth day with a beaming smile and her gaze was already looking for her big life goals. Virginia is now Strong. Cathie is a unique professional with not only great know how but extraordinary emotional intelligence and is able to create a focused path because of her great empathy that goes beyond professionalism. Ron Davis' method is extraordinary and Cathie applies it perfection.

Salve, sono Cristian Biancardi, un giovane adulto DSA con dislessia, che nel mio caso comprende disortografia, discalculia e disgrafia. Ho conosciuto Cathie Geraci, una donna straordinaria, paziente e professionale. Con il metodo Davis, mi ha aperto un vasto campo nel mondo dei DSA e ho imparato a conoscere me stesso a 360 gradi. Apprezzo molto il metodo Davis e la mia facilitatrice Cathie Geraci. Per i ragazzi e le ragazze, l'importante è cercare di mettere in pratica tutti gli insegnamenti e non mollare mai.

Hi, I am Cristian Biancardi, a DSA young adult with dyslexia, which includes in my case dysorthographia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia. I met Cathie Geraci, an amazing woman, patient and professional. With the Davis method, she opened up a vast field for me in the world of DSA and I learned about myself in a 360 degree way. I greatly appreciate the Davis method and my facilitator Cathie Geraci. For boys and girls, the important thing is to try to put all the teachings into practice and never give up.

Sono passati 13 anni da quando mio figlio è stato aiutato per la prima volta con i programmi Davis. Da allora, senza seguire altri metodi, ha sviluppato una comprensione del mondo in cui vive, ha imparato a parlare con frasi complete e ha completato la scuola superiore con un'assistenza minima. Sebbene abbia ancora delle sfide da affrontare, senza il Metodo Davis per l'Autismo sarebbe potuto finire in un istituto. Senza il Metodo Davis per l'Autismo non sarebbe stato in grado di viaggiare facilmente per il mondo, di praticare sport a livello agonistico e di essere parte integrante della sua comunità. Con il Metodo Davis per l'Autismo è indipendente, felice e tranquillo. Questi metodi, una volta completati, ci hanno permesso di vivere la nostra vita e di vedere Francesco svilupparsi in modo naturale per superare tutti gli ostacoli. Questo è il motivo per cui faccio quello che faccio.

Autism Approach Program, Dyslexia Program, and Math Program

It has been 13 years since my son was first facilitated through the Davis Programs. Since that time, without pursuing any other methods, he has developed an understanding of the world he lives in, has learned how to speak in full sentences, and has completed high school with minimal assistance. While he still has some challenges ahead of him, without the Davis Autism Method he might have ended up in an institution. Without the Davis Autism Method he would not be able to easily travel the world, pursue competitive sports and be an integral part of his community. With the Davis Autism Method he is independent, happy and calm. These methods, once completed, allowed us to just live our lives and watch Francesco develop in a natural way to overcome all obstacles. This is why I do what I do.
