Dr. Angela L. Gonzales, affectionately known as Dr. Angie, is a Pediatrician, Licensed Davis® Facilitator, Licensed Davis Autism Approach® Facilitator, Davis® Autism Approach Workshop Presenter and Trainer, transformational speaker, and founder of Dr. Angie's Place in Riverside, California. She is also a devoted mother of three neurotypical and neurodivergent sons.
Dr. Angie's academic career began with a BA in Physiology from the University of California San Diego, followed by earning her Doctorate in Medicine from the Drew/UCLA School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Martin Luther King Hospital, where she also served as Chief Resident, teaching pediatric residents. Her professional journey continued as a General Pediatrician in Downey, California, during which she time contributed to various medical committees.
As her family grew, Dr. Angie transitioned from full-time practice to a part-time schedule, dedicating more time to her children. Faced with her youngest child's educational challenges, Dr. Angie left her medical career to focus on home schooling. The breakthrough came with the discovery of the Davis® method, which recognized her son’s gifts, and led to his significant academic and personal improvements. Inspired by these results, she shifted her career to become a Licensed Davis® Facilitator and Davis Autism Approach® Facilitator, specializing in helping others with similar challenges.
She realized she could help more people with the Davis® methods than with traditional medicine.
Dr. Angie established Dr. Angie's Place in Riverside, California, where she continues to make a profound impact on the lives of children and adults, empowering them, holistically, through her unique combination of medical and educational expertise.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Angie now resides in Riverside, California with her husband of 35 years. Her journey is a testament to her dedication to family, the belief that neurodivergent individuals are not broken, and the well-being of her community.

“I felt myself slipping away at the age of three. Every day I became more lost. Dr. Angie, it is as if I have been in jail all my life, looking through the bars and not knowing how to get out. You have given me the key and I love it out here! Now, I have found myself. I have found Marie. I am now living life through myself.”
- Marie (age 52), Davis Autism Approach Program
"…I retook my English competency test and my score was so high that I don’t need remedial English; I get to go straight to regular English. They said my reading comprehension and ability to breakdown sentences had improved dramatically. I am so happy! Thank you."
- Justina (age 20), Dyslexia Correction Program
"Just thought you would want to know that Cole scored 96% on a math benchmark test and did so well on his reading test that he got to celebrate by being at the "85% Table". He's also had two consecutive weeks of making four 100%'s with his Accelerated Reading program. We are so proud of him! Talk about making progress! And we are so grateful for you, the one who unlocked 'Cole's World'!"
- Mother of 9 year old, Dyslexia Correction Program
“I love Dr. Angie. She helped me know that I am special. Even though I don’t read and write like everyone else in my class, I know that I am smart and creative. I know that I can imagine things that other people can’t. Using clay helps me to learn and remember things and my imaginary tools help me every day at school. My homework is better with my mom now too.”
– Emma, (age 8), Dyslexia Correction
“Had I not chosen the Davis Autism Approach, I most certainly would have been consigned to leading a life of profound misery in which I would still be trapped in the 'netherworld' of autism for the rest of my life. I no longer view autism as a ‘scourge’ that must be harshly dealt with. As a matter of fact, the autism within me has become a wonderful gift that has compelled me to see the ‘beauty of life’ at a particular instant in time."
- Albert (age 48), Davis Autism Approach Program
