Anne trained as a teacher in 1985, although her specific interest in helping children with reading and maths difficulties brought her into the world of dyslexic, ADHD and autistic children 20 years ago.
She became aware that many parents were having difficulty getting the right help for their children in school, mainly due to teachers’ lack of specialist knowledge.
In 2012, Anne came across the book, The Gift of Dyslexia by Ron Davis. Although she had helped many dyslexic children learn to read prior to reading the book, the methods that were described in it absolutely transformed the learning of her pupils. Ron Davis (severely dyslexic himself),described why dyslexia happens and how the difficulties it causes could be sorted out. Other books of Ron’s explained how to help ADHD and ASD children. In his books, Ron described a simple, yet incredibly insightful way for these picture-thinking children and adults to be able to learn easily.
After successfully working for a year using “The Gift of Dyslexia”, Anne decided to train as a facilitator with the Davis Association. She has never looked back!
Anne’s Davis learners (many of whom are in the age 5-15 age group) regularly rise from the bottom third of their class to the middle third and often move into the top third, surprising all their teachers and peers.

9 year old boy - Davis Mastery for Dyslexia programme
The Davis course has helped my son beyond belief. Before the course, it was a battle to get him to read anything, but now he reads because he actually enjoys it! The principles of the course really make sense and the process is extremely interesting. It has developed my son's general learning skills and I believe it will continue to have a positive effect on many aspects of his life
9-year-old boy - Davis Mastery for Attention programme
Following the programme, this client's teacher said: "He has returned to school after the holidays with greater focus and a much better work ethic. He is putting a lot of effort into every lesson and is producing a good amount of work. His behaviour is noticeably improved as well. Before the break, he was regularly getting into minor disagreements in the playground, but doesn't anymore."
His sports coach commented "His behaviour was awesome at the last training session. Really impressed."
From the mother of a 10-year-old girl who completed a Davis Mastery for Dyslexia programme in 2022.
2024 - at the end of her first year in secondary school. "I have just been speaking to the SENCO at M's new school and she said that she really wouldn't have realised she was dyslexic - she learns so well."
He's doing so well at his spellings and has manged to retain 16 new words in the last 2 weeks. We played "spelling test" last night and he got every single word correct. This picture thinking is mind blowing! It really is extraordinary.
Anne has been very generous is supplying me with information to help me with my dyslexic son.
So far, she has demonstrated the most knowledge on how his dyslexia affects him, out of any of our professional contacts.
Anne has a very personable manner and is very easy to communicate with.
I'm very pleased that I found Anne, and I will recommend her to other parents.
