The Davis Difference

Unlike traditional approaches that try to “fix” neurodivergence, Davis methods celebrate different thinking. Our founder, Ron Davis, created these approaches from his own experience as an autistic individual who found his way out of confusion and isolation.

This isn’t theory. This is lived experience translated into practical tools.

Ron Davis Created These Methods from His Own Experience

Ron Davis was diagnosed as a “Kanner’s Baby” (early terminology for autism) and didn’t speak until age 9. His mother was  told Ron would “never be able to be held, to learn, to speak, or achieve much beyond what a chimpanzee could.”

They were very wrong.

“What inspired me to help those with autism is that I am myself autistic.”

By age 17, his IQ measured 137—exceptional intelligence. But he couldn’t read due to severe dyslexia. He became a successful engineer while hiding that he was functionally illiterate until age 38.

At 38, Ron made a breakthrough that changed his world.

Through self-experimentation, Ron discovered how to control the perceptual distortions causing his difficulties. For the first time, he could read a book cover to cover.

From there, he turned to his autism. Using clay models and environmental exploration, the same methods he’d used as a child, Ron worked through three crucial phases:

  • Individuation – becoming aware of himself as separate from everything else
  • Identity Development – understanding fundamental life concepts
  • Social Integration – learning to navigate relationships

These discoveries became the Davis Method that have transformed thousands of lives worldwide.

How Our Workshops Work

A Completely Different Approach to Neurodivergent Support

No Behavioral Modification

Our workshops don’t use rote learning, repetition, or social skills training. Instead, we address the root cause—helping individuals master fundamental concepts they may have missed.

Hands-On Workshop Learning

Using specially designed clay, workshop participants create models of abstract concepts like “change,” “consequence,” and “responsibility.” This makes invisible concepts concrete and masterable.

Environmental Integration

After modeling each concept in our workshops, participants explore how it exists in real life. This integration ensures lasting understanding that transfers across all situations.

Self-Regulation Tools

Our workshops teach practical mental strategies for managing stress, regulating energy, and maintaining focus—tools participants can use independently for life.

Anne is our expert Support Coordinator, Davis Trainer and Facilitator who has guided hundreds of families and professionals through this exact decision. In your 15-minute discovery call, Anne will:

  • Listen without judgment to your specific situation and challenges
  • Explain all available options (workshops, programs, training, facilitators)
  • Help navigate multiple neurodivergent traits (autism + ADHD, etc.)
  • Discuss realistic timelines and investments for each option
  • Connect you with local facilitators if individual support is preferred

How do I know which option is right for me or my family?

Book a free discovery call with Anne. She’ll help you understand all the options and guide you to the best starting point based on your specific situation and goals.

What’s the difference between workshops and individual programs?

Workshops teach you to facilitate the methods with others and provide community learning. Individual programs are personalized one-on-one support where you receive the methods directly.

Can adults with ADHD or executive function issues participate?

Absolutely! The Concepts for Life options are specifically designed for anyone struggling with executive function, organization, relationships, or daily life management.

How is this different from ABA or other autism approaches?

Our methods were created by an autistic individual and focus on building missing life concepts rather than behavior modification. We celebrate neurodivergence rather than trying to change it.
