For over 30 years, I've been a dedicated teacher in the NZ school system, witnessing countless individuals struggling with reading, writing, and maths challenges. Our education system often left these bright sparks feeling frustrated and misunderstood. Given the same old phonics exercises, their needs were not truly being met or, most often, barely adequately addressed.
I've seen struggling kids put in the 'too hard' or 'not enough resources' basket far too many times. Even the luckiest ones received unskilled and often repetitive help, feeling stuck in a never-ending loop without experiencing success. I knew I needed to make a difference, and that day finally came with a change in my personal circumstances.
Driven by passion and dedication, I retrained as a Davis® Dyslexia+ Facilitator to help those who had previously struggled. Now, I have the privilege of witnessing the remarkable transformations that Davis® tools and methods bring to our clients. It's deeply moving to watch as clients take control of their learning and life, growing in confidence and competence with easy, hands-on learning. These tools aren't just for now; they're for life.
With confidence in their reading, writing, and maths, I have witnessed extraordinary progress and results that were once beyond their wildest dreams. One of my clients, a 10-year-old, went from being two years behind in reading and writing to matching and then surpassing his peers, achieving two years ahead in less than six months. Another client, a 13-year-old, started with me unable to add and subtract up to 20 and confidently achieved 87% on their maths test.

We have been super impressed with Nikki and her sessions with our daughter. Her self-confidence around learning and especially writing has grown immensely since she has done her new learning. She is now excited about learning new words and using them effectively. This has filtered into other areas of her school work and she is now more willing to give new things a go.

My son Aiden (11) completed the program in March, we have already seen his reading improve & word confidence grow. Nikki has been fantastic, providing support & regularly checking up on him making sure he is comfortable using his strategies & tools. I highly recommend this program and Nikki.
Whitest it is early days yet, our son is gaining confidence in learning his letters and beginning to learn to read, and is now willing to try reading. But more importantly we now have a direction to be able to help him at home and with consistent effort he will get there.
