About Janice

Janice has an extensive background in education with more than 30 years experience in teaching, including 12 years as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator. She became interested in the Davis methods in her search for a truly multi-sensory and holistic approach to dyslexia, in order to help those who struggle to read, write, spell and understand maths, even though they may have received support throughout their education. Having read ‘The Gift of Dyslexia’ she knew that she had found practical, tactile and innovative methods to help those who are creative picture thinkers and who process information best visually. Janice is convinced that everyone can learn to read, write, spell and focus their attention, provided the root cause of their learning difficulties is addressed, and they use methods that use their talents and strengths. She is passionate about using the Davis techniques and loves to help clients realise their true potential and achieve personal goals. Janice has extensive experience of working with children, teenagers and adults, across the spectrum of difficulties including Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, ADHD and Dyspraxia.

Janice's Success Stories

Our grandson struggled to learn to read throughout infant and junior school. He had become quite a challenging child in his class, due to being frustrated at seeing other children not struggle with their reading. We contacted Janice for help with his dyslexia, on the recommendation of the school’s Educational Psychologist. The Davis Programme has helped our grandson very much indeed and his reading has improved to above average. We are so proud of his achievements and progress and he is now confident in his ability. He has gained a place with a private school to enable him to progress even further.

School was never easy for me as I always struggled to read and understand what I had read, no matter how many times I tried. I was very aware of being behind my peers, in academic subjects. The programme I completed with Janice has helped me understand that when I use the Davis methods I am no longer afraid of reading and can recall texts. I can also remember tasks that I need to complete and work out the order to do them in. My spelling has improved so now I’m using more appropriate words in my writing, rather than sticking to words I know how to spell. I feel so much more confident than I used to and that’s down to the programme and continuing to use the methods.

I continue to use the Davis methods to stay focussed and relaxed in order to complete the many tasks in my daily workload. I just wish I’d had the benefit of a Davis Programme while I was a student at university, spending excessive hours struggling to complete my assignments. The Davis methods are truly life changing and I feel like the ‘fog’ of daily struggles are a thing of the past. I can thoroughly recommend the programme to anyone wanting help with their dyslexia.

I was really behind my friends with reading and writing and would have to read pages more than once and made lots of mistakes.
