My Journey to Davis
My name is Gracie Dines, and my journey started when I was in 5th grade and struggling in school. I knew I had dyslexia, but I didn’t understand what that meant beyond the fact that school was more difficult for me. I had been through all the interventions and tests possible, and I was ready to give up, thinking I could never succeed in school. This was hard on me and my family to witness at such a young age.
That’s when my grandpa told my parents he had a friend who could help with dyslexia. That was when I was introduced to the Davis Method, and my life changed forever after my own program. I was able to excel in school, achieve my goal for academics, and perform well on advanced testing. It was amazing, but what has stuck with me the most is the confidence it gave me. I was able to enjoy school and socialize more with my peers.
That’s why I’m here today. I decided to become a Davis Facilitator myself—to give others confidence in themselves and help them realize that dyslexia is a gift.
