About Liz

What parent wouldn’t want to help their child with reading and/or attention challenges? Having a son with dyslexia caused Liz to look for tools to help him to become a confident, and self-directed learner. Most of the programs she tried with him focused on gimmicks and rote memorization instead of getting to the root of his problems. He was losing confidence fast.
While teaching writing to several neurodiverse homeschool students, Liz was introduced to the Davis method. It resonated! Instead of looking at dyslexia as a learning disability, she began to see it as a learning difference. Having the opportunity to work with several homeschool students using the Davis method, she observed an encouraging transformation. Their willingness to learn, confidence, and ability to read and write blossomed.
The neurodiverse population possesses a visual talent that can manifest itself in a disability, but when given the right tools, these people thrive. Learning about the intelligence of these picture-thinking people compelled Liz to become a Davis Dyslexia Facilitator, and she continues to count it a privilege to help them gain the ability and confidence to make reading, writing, and focusing a breeze.
A surprising by-product of her work facilitating the Davis program for others has been an improvement in her own reading comprehension and attention skills. Win, win! Besides reading, Liz enjoys taking walks with her husband in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and watching her grandchildren develop and grow. Her BA (Speech), and experience as a university advisor, manager, and assistant director has given her added experience in working with college-bound students.
Oh, yes, as to her dyslexic son, after his Davis program, he made the dean’s list in college.
Liz looks forward to helping you and/or your kids (from ages 5 to 90) changing your worlds from one of frustration and failure to confidence and ease. Her office is in Post Falls, Idaho but she can also offer on-line help.

Liz's Success Stories

Mom of 12 year old son: It wasn’t until we found Dyslexia North Idaho that we found the help we needed. Our son has gained the tools he needs to succeed in school. He is now more confident and showing huge improvements in reading. We are most grateful that our son now wants to and has the tools to improve and grow in all areas of school.

Mom of 7 year old daughter: Liz is the absolute best!!! My daughter is dyslexic and Liz has helped her so much! Dedicated to my daughter 100 percent! We absolutely love her and my daughter is doing so well!! Liz is the person you want to help your child in need!!

Mother of 11 year old daughter: My daughter went from not progressing in reading starting at kindergarten and having every learning test I could find. (Now a fourth grader) Dyslexia is really hard to diagnose and find support for. Now, after the Davis program, words are not jumping around anymore, improved reading levels from Instructional 5th level to Independent 6th level from November 2021 to May 2022)!!! I could not recommend Dyslexia North Idaho more for a struggling reader!!!

From mom of 12 year old boy doing an attention program:
We started school last week and our son had to work hard to catch up so he wouldn’t be behind. He had a lot to jump into after the move he did amazing! I did sit with him the whole time, so that always helps but there were a few times I told him to go take a break and do what he needed to do to put all those tools he had to work and he did it! Not only that, he LOVED class! So I’m sure we’ll still have issues to work on and lots of time to practice those tools, but regardless of all of that it was a joy to work with him! He really has come a long way! So thank you!

From Dad and Mom of 12 year old daughter: Liz has given my daughter a new outlook on reading. Before going through the program my daughter viewed reading as a chore and something to be avoided at all costs. After the program my daughter is now excited to read and more importantly, she feels empowered to take her reading ability into her own hands. Thanks for empowering my child with knowledge and techniques that she can use throughout her whole life.
