I trained to become a Davis Facilitator in 2005 after my youngest son had a Davis Maths programme. He had been struggling at school, particularly with maths, and seemed to be overlooked because he could read and was not 'bad enough' in either his academic achievement or behaviour. I was told about, then read the book 'The Gift of Dyslexia'. It was a revelation to me, it helped me understand how my son thinks and explained why he was experiencing difficulties.
Increasing numbers of children seem to find it more difficult to access the curriculum within school. Davis methods allow individuals to find the key to unlock their learning. Working one-to-one, in a safe environment, gives the student (adult or child) the opportunity to practice and assimilate the Davis mental tools and methods enabling them to use them in the classroom or workplace and to enhance their ability, confidence and achievement.
It is a privilege to work with such interesting and diverse thinkers. A Davis programme opens up their world - not just academically but in so many ways including a 17 year old catching a ball for the first time and a child being able to hear his grandad more clearly on the phone. For another child improved football skills were a bonus and for and adult a reduction in snacking was and he was also able to control and significantly reduce his stammering.
I conduct most programmes in my home but have been welcomed in to local schools to provide follow-up and support for existing clients. I occasionally work with clients in their own home.

I came to the Davis method of correcting my dyslexia and ADD at the grand old age of 50. After reading The gift of Dyslexia the penny finally dropped and I realised that there wasn't something wrong with me, I simply had a different way of thinking which made reading and organising things difficult.
Elizabeth was simply the best teacher I ever had as all through childhood I was more trouble than any at my schools could handle. Patient and thorough she guided me through the processes necessary to find my focal point and think in a new way. Having spent a good amount of my life in a disoriented state this has changed not only my reading, which is becoming more relaxed and enjoyable, but also my relationships with others.
It has been an emotional journey. Finally realising that I am not somehow 'wrong' but I simply think and conceptualize the world in a more visual way.
The low self esteem I left school with and have spent 35 years battling could have been avoided if I had come to this understanding when I was a child but sadly for me it took so long.
If your child has issues at school please don't let them struggle and leave with nothing but a sense of failure as I did. The investment of time and money in this method along with the required practice and input from you parents, will pay dividends in your child's life.
Thank you Elizabeth for all you showed me.
Messages from mother of 10 year old:
Thanks to you H has mustered the courage to go on an Isle of Wight school trip (at her new school). All the plan towards it and your kind support has helped her. I’m really pleased. Thank you.
Amazing crackdown on her separation fears. She sailed through. Loved her trip. Face time everyday. Wanted an extended holiday. Over the moon as she had got over the fear.
