Helping others of all ages reach their potential is the main goal when Donna Kouri is working with her clients utilizing the Davis Dyslexia approach. Year after year she witnesses first-hand how the Davis approach literally changes lives. Being dyslexic herself, she knows exactly how it can make one feel inadequate. The Davis Dyslexia approach nips that in the bud! The client realizes that indeed they are a learner and there is nothing wrong or backwards in their thinking. Success is now on their doorstep and obstacles are removed!
As for public schools, Donna feels that since attending school is the law, then our schools should provide the appropriate and meaningful education needed for our youth. Our schools teach to the general public, but it does not meet the needs of all of our students. Donna has and still works towards correcting this oversight within our school systems!
One of Donna's greatest joys is when a client contacts her with the news of how splendid life is with their new Davis strategies of navigating the world of language learners. Donna and her clients know that the Davis Dyslexia approach should not be ignored! It is a win-win!

Thank you Donna Kouri and Davis,
At 54, I knew I wanted to complete my degree from my initial failed college attempt in my 20s, and I knew reading was a problem. I did not know then that I was functionally illiterate—I could read words most of the time but put them in a sentence, paragraph, chapter, or book, and I was sunk. Words and letters jumped and flew around the page. I was skeptical about the Davis program, but I decided to make the jump.
Five years later, I completed my Bachelor of Science degree, and one month ago, I graduated from the College of William and Mary with a master's degree. Now, I am a resident in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, graduating with honors both times. Donna was the key and most critical ingredient.
The Davis program nailed the issue, but it was Donna's thorough and kind acceptance, compassion, and, most of all, intense patience! Donna's facilitation of the Davis program was life-changing, and I will be forever grateful to her for giving me a new life.
With Great respect, gratitude, and love,
Linda Encinas-Fulgham
P.S. I have read more books in the last five years than in my entire life before the Davis program. I have
also stopped calling Donna to tell her I completed another book!
With help from our wonderful Davis facilitator Donna, my son was able to learn and practice techniques which addressed numerous areas of challenge such as self expression, writing letters backwards, and becoming overwhelmed by adrenaline rushes when disoriented. Most importantly, he learned about the benefits of being a "picture thinker". As a non-picture thinker parent, I was grateful to meet an adult who was able to help my son so specifically through keen understanding of the way his brain works; Donna had concrete ideas of how to tackle obstacles to learning - gave him a foundational toolkit which can be utilized in many different areas of life. We are so appreciative of Donna's warm heart, patience, and the sincere embracing of all his unique gifts!
I took my 10 year old granddaughter to Davis Dyslexia training. This training gave my granddaughter powerful tools she can use by herself to help her, a “visual spacial learner,” adapt to the public education’s world built for “word learners.” I was so pleasantly surprised at the processes and techniques used by Donna through Davis. The techniques used to help people with reading problems are not what I expected. But, they are so effective! Plus, by taking away the label of “dyslexia” and replacing it with the term “visual spacial learner,” my granddaughter grew in confidence. She now sees herself as one of a group of people who learn differently but not wrongly. She now has confidence to read aloud, recognizes when and knows how to apply the techniques she learned during the program. It has only been about 6 weeks since she completed her training but she notices the difference herself as do her parents and grandparents. We completed the training during the summer break from school. We are all looking forward to seeing what difference it makes in her school work.
