What is the Davis® Gift of Dyslexia Workshop?
The Davis Gift of Dyslexia Workshop takes you on a hands-on journey through the Davis methods for Dyslexia, as described in the book The Gift of Dyslexia.
Join us either in person or online to gain deep insights and practical skills. This workshop will help you understand the root causes and master effective strategies to support your loved ones with their reading difficulties.
If you want licensure in the Davis Methods, which includes Dyslexia, ADHD, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Dyspraxia, this is the first step in professional training.
What you will gain
By the end of the workshop, while not yet an expert, you’ll possess the understanding and tools to support someone through the techniques and strategies learned in the workshop, enabling them to understand and overcome their reading challenges.

This intensive five-day workshop will enable you to:
- Learn about the extraordinary way the Davis Methods were developed.
- Uncover the connection between gifts and challenges in Dyslexia.
- Gain understanding of the unique thinking and learning style of Dyslexic individuals.
- Learn why traditional approaches often fall short or worsen the situation.
- Discover the speed and effectiveness of the Davis Methods compared to traditional approaches.

How you will learn
During this five-day workshop, you’ll dive into the Davis Methods in a group setting. Whether online or in-person, our limited group size ensures the highest quality of training. You’ll explore the main Davis methods for Dyslexia through clear explanations, engaging demonstrations, Q&A sessions, and hands-on individual and pair-work practice using our signature clay modeling approach.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have gained a solid understanding of how Davis works and why it’s so effective.
Upon completion, you have the option to continue with further training and licensure.

This workshop is open to all adults interested in better supporting Dyslexic thinkers. It is especially recommended for parents, tutors, teachers, professionals and heart-centered entreprenuers as well as individuals interested in pursuing licensure as a Davis Facilitator.

Workshop format and timeframe
Designed for group participation, you can attend the Gift of Dyslexia Workshop either in person or online, and choose from various locations, time zones, and languages worldwide.
Face-to-face
Our in-person workshop is an immersive, enjoyable, and altogether unforgettable experience.
Alongside like-minded individuals and in a fun and supportive environment, you will experience first-hand how the Davis tools and techniques work. You’ll take home a whole new understanding of neurodivergent thinking and learning, as well as actionable new skills for use in your own life and in supporting your student or loved one.
Online
The online format is an equally stimulating and enjoyable learning experience. This is no dry webinar. We employ a host of creative innovations to ensure the same dynamic, social, hands-on experience that you would expect from any Davis methods workshop. Features of the online workshop experience include:
- “Camera-on,” “mic-on” video conferencing for real-time interaction
- Short video demonstrations of our main procedures in a face-to-face setting
- Hands-on demonstrations of other key procedures
- Adapted pair-work practice in “breakout rooms”
- Content review and Q&A sessions to reinforce learning as you progress
- In-session use of clay for hands-on experience of Davis Symbol Mastery
Timeframe
The workshop is spread across five consecutive days (30 hours). This applies to both the in-person and online formats.
