Dolores Gage is a dedicated trilingual Davis\u00ae Facilitator based in Madrid, Spain, fluent in English, Spanish, and French. Driven by her personal journey and passion for empowering neurodivergent individuals, she's committed to helping people unlock their true potential using the transformative Davis method.

Starting in 2019, when she sought help for her son experiencing learning difficulties abroad, Dolores understands the unique challenges faced in international environments. She works both in-person in Madrid and online, and supports adults, teens, and children (as young as 5) experiencing difficulties with reading, writing, math, attention (ADHD), executive function challenges and autism. She takes a holistic view, recognizing that unhelpful behaviours are often dictated by a combination of disorientation and natural stress responses to perceived threats.

With a deep appreciation for neurodivergent thinking, Dolores aims to restore self-esteem in those labeled 'stupid,' 'lazy,' or 'difficult,' as they can be among the brightest individuals. Her mission is to help clients understand themselves better, offering support, tools, and tailored solutions to empower them in learning and in life.

Support for parents<\/b>
In addition to her individual support of clients and their families through Davis one-to-one programmes, Dolores offers the \u2018Davis Parent Power: Dyslexia\u2019 online course (formerly known as \u2018Why Tyrannosaurus but not if?\u2019 or WhyTy for short), designed to empower parents in becoming the best helpers for their children. This 12-hour course runs over 6 weeks and provides parents with valuable insights, strategies, and a supportive community to connect with other parents facing similar challenges.

Gain tools and confidence to succeed independently<\/b>
Dolores doesn\u2019t need a \u2018diagnosis\u2019 to be able to help her clients. She does not believe they are \u2018sick\u2019 or \u2018broken\u2019, just misunderstood, and after explaining the root cause, she will create a tailored solution to address each client's unique challenges. Her goal is to empower her clients in their learning and life, providing them with the tools and confidence to succeed independently.

En 2019, Dolores descubri\u00f3 Davis cuando estaba buscando ayuda para uno de sus hijos que experimentaba dificultades de aprendizaje mientras viv\u00eda en el extranjero. Entiende los desaf\u00edos \u00fanicos de superar tales obst\u00e1culos en entornos internacionales.

Dolores ayuda a adultos, adolescentes y ni\u00f1os (edad m\u00ednima 5 a\u00f1os) que experimentan dificultades con la lectura, la escritura, las matem\u00e1ticas, la atenci\u00f3n (TDAH), las funciones ejecutivas y el autismo. Ofrece consultas y programas Davis tanto en persona en Madrid como en l\u00ednea. Tiene una visi\u00f3n hol\u00edstica y reconoce que muchos comportamientos poco productivos suelen surgir de una combinaci\u00f3n de desorientaci\u00f3n y respuestas naturales al estr\u00e9s ante amenazas percibidas.

Con un profundo aprecio por el pensamiento neurodivergente, Dolores tiene como objetivo recuperar la autoestima en aquellas personas etiquetadas como \"est\u00fapidas\", \"perezosas\" o \"dif\u00edciles\", ya que pueden estar entre las personas m\u00e1s brillantes. Su misi\u00f3n es ayudar a los clientes a entenderse mejor a s\u00ed mismos, ofreciendo apoyo, herramientas y soluciones personalizadas para empoderarlos en el aprendizaje y en la vida.

Apoyo para padres<\/b>
Adem\u00e1s del apoyo que brinda tanto a sus clientes como a sus padres trav\u00e9s de los programas Davis individuales, Dolores tambi\u00e9n ofrece el curso en l\u00ednea \u00abDavis Parent Power: Dislexia' (antes conocido como 'Why Tyrannosaurus but not if?', abreviado a WhyTy), dise\u00f1ado para ayudar a padres a convertirse en las mejores fuentes de apoyo de sus hijos. Este curso de 12 horas dura 6 semanas y ofrece a los padres conocimientos, estrategias y una comunidad de apoyo para conectar con otros padres que se enfrentan a retos similares.

Dolores no necesita un \u00abdiagn\u00f3stico\u00bb para poder ayudar a sus clientes. No cree que est\u00e9n \u00abenfermos\u00bb o \u00abrotos\u00bb, sino simplemente incomprendidos, y despu\u00e9s de explicarles la causa ra\u00edz, crear\u00e1 una soluci\u00f3n a medida para abordar los desaf\u00edos \u00fanicos de cada cliente. Mi hija de 10 a\u00f1os hizo hace tres meses el programa Davis junto a Dolores. No tiene una dislexia profunda, pero ya llevaba tres a\u00f1os de distintas terapias que no hab\u00edan terminado de funcionar, minando su autoestima y aumentando los niveles de estr\u00e9s familiar. Unos amigos me hablaron muy bien del m\u00e9todo y quise probar algo diferente porque nada de lo cl\u00e1sico y convencional la hab\u00eda ayudado.

El programa Davis no es m\u00e1gico, pero aborda tres ejes que son importantes para los ni\u00f1os con problemas de lectoescritura: la autoestima, la concentraci\u00f3n y la relajaci\u00f3n. En ning\u00fan otro sitio he encontrado que les prestaran demasiada atenci\u00f3n. El programa es muy intensivo y duro para los ni\u00f1os peque\u00f1os, pero est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado de esta manera porque se entiende que as\u00ed es m\u00e1s efectivo. Durante el mismo, Dolores mostr\u00f3 m\u00faltiples recursos para identificar las necesidades de mi hija, una gran dosis de paciencia para trabajar con ella y, sobre todo, una gran habilidad para sacar el m\u00e1ximo partido del programa, dado que cada ni\u00f1o tiene unas necesidades diferentes.

Aunque no notamos grandes cambios inmediatamente, s\u00ed que (a\u00fan) continuamos con los ejercicios diarios de forma disciplinada. Unas 2 o 3 semanas despu\u00e9s empezamos a notar los cambios: m\u00e1s fluidez en la lectura (no conseguida tras numeros\u00edsimas horas en otras terapias y programas online), mucha mejor entonaci\u00f3n, y m\u00e1s concentraci\u00f3n en la realizaci\u00f3n de deberes y en clase. Y una ni\u00f1a m\u00e1s segura de s\u00ed misma porque ve que es capaz de mejorar sus notas y de recordar cosas que antes no pod\u00eda: diferenciar la izquierda de la derecha, las horas del reloj, reglas ortogr\u00e1ficas\u2026 No es magia y hay cosas que a\u00fan le cuestan, pero este m\u00e9todo ofrece \u201cunas t\u00e9cnicas de estudio\u201d que hacen que mejoren en muchos aspectos, poco a poco, porque la dislexia les acompa\u00f1ar\u00e1 siempre. The programme goes beyond improving focus.
